Incorporated as a town in 1765, North Providence was originally part of what is now known as Providence and Pawtucket. Composed of several villages and neighborhoods including Allendale, Centredale and Fruit Hill, North Providence has a population of 32,078.
North Providence is centrally located in Providence County. Access to all major highways and interstates make it an easy commute to Providence, Boston and Newport and makes North Providence easily accessible from any point in the state. North Providence is the smallest town in the state but offers a myriad of goods and services, especially on its main road, Mineral Spring Avenue.
The town has experienced a significant rate of residential growth. North Providence has a total of 7 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 1 high school.
